Spent a brilliant weekend in the Victorian High Country last week. Had a 6 car group, I was the only Jeep. The other guys were a bit sceptical but I managed every climb and mudbath and rocky ascent without problems- compared to the Jackaroo (snatched twice) and the Hilux (two bent panels and a sidestep and rear bumper, and snatched once).
It poured down on the saturday morning as we travelled the Evans Creek Track towards Lake William Hovell, then the clouds blew away in the afternoon as we climbed the Black Spur track towards Pineapple Flat where we camped. Sunday we travelled up Mount Stirling stopping at Craigs Hut on the way, and couldn't have picked a better day for it- the views were unreal. When we got to the top of Mt Stirling it was warm enough to fold the top back and enjoy the air.
Bloody awesome weekend with lots of laughs and adventure.
