i am in 2 train of thoughts with this. Personally i hope that it never happens but probably inevitable at some stage in the future.
However, the other side tells me then it want be a wrangler anymore if this changed and hope that the bean counters think like this also.

Beats me how the FJ cruiser is outselling the wrangler as well. I think it is funny how the Aussies cant get enough of the overpriced LC200 cruiser yet in the good 'ol US of A they can barely sell 1600 a year and is in the top 5 of the worst selling vehicles in the United states.

On a positive note the grand Cherokee now outsells the pootrol, atleast over the last couple of months anyway!

Off topic, sorry about that but i am a statistic nut with vehicles but there something for nothing

Default Wish I had more hands...

Wish that I had more hands, so I could give IFS wranglers 4 thumbs down.

That's nasty. Totally agree with you too there WranglerTJ, new cruisers are awsome if you're the type of bloke that likes fishnet shirts and drives with two hands on the wheel....

I would be happier if they stuck with the solid axles, but upgraded the connections to the chassis. Drop the track bar rubbish and stick upper triangulated control arms front and rear and longer lower arms. That will rid the bump steer, give it better on road manners and keep it as a real offroader.

That would be nice, as i went from live axle discovery to the Jeep and have noticed the difference in there designe.
I have wheeled with IFS vehicles and seen them get stuck or damage there sumps as the suspension compresses and gives them only an inch of ground clearance under the sump drive train which on uneven terrain cab cause issues.
Depends on what you use the vehicle for.
But as far as an Independent suspension wrangler i did like the Jeep Hurricane
as it has clearance as it is a Buggy design with nice V8 or two.

I'm told people squealed like little girls when 4wds went from "tough" leaf springs to "weak" coil designs.

And now they're the favourite pick of people all over.

All it takes is a bit of creative thinking to give the Wrangler something that is supreme onroad and comparable off road. Downside is cost. Cost has always and will always be a contributing factor to junk suspension.

I'd be more than happy to see a serious 4wd the size of the wrangler with independent suspension if it wasn't simply car spec consumer-grade garbage they pulled from the WK2. would be the dream actually - the JK is let down by its sold axle road manners.

I doubt it would then be called a serious 4wd
