Damn it, I have the cleaner itching to try and see if it helps, but still waiting for the borescope camera... Would really like to take a peek before and after to see how reasonable of a job that cleaner does...

The only way I would see this causing a problem is if there was a heap of blowby due to worn rings.

I can't see why it would need to be done. I also wouldn't believe what you read in forums either.

To be honest you're putting in some solvent in the intake, which dissolves crap, which ends up in the cylinder, and it's probably not going to burn completely. Some of that dissolved crap might contaminate oil.
