Was the change to a 3" pipe and free flow muffler worth it? Did you need to consider anything before installation. Thanks Steve

Steve, the 4.7 charged Grand's that come to AUS, have a 6 cylinder muffler fitted to them, so they can pass our noise limits. I think AUS was either 92 or 94db while USA was 96 or 98db, a 4db difference i think! I was told this when i had the exhaust done, correct me if i'm wrong. To answer your question, yes Steve for $195 and nothing to consider, except a muffler about a third the size of the original and if you can picture the free flow smaller muffler being welded at the same rear point, meaning the weld clossest to the back of the car, leaving you more ground clearance. I hope you can understand what the hell i'm talking about. The 3" pipe is only from the front muffler weld to cat converter. A slight power gain and almost the same note as the engineers intended, just a little quieter for aussie ears. Had this done more than 2 years ago, so might be a bit dearer now, they even welded a flexture just after the axle where the pipe comes down near the fuel tank. Hope this helps.
