Default Tyre Pressure Sensors

I was thinking of buying another set of factory wheels (as they are cheap as) for my recently purchased 2015 Grand Cherokee Limited and putting all terrain tyres of some kind on it, that way I could keep the factory rims with highway tyres on and put them back on for when I sell it and upgrade to a newer Jeep. Has anyone had any experience with the aftermarket tyre pressure sensors? Where’s the best place to purchase a set of tyre pressure sensors?
I believe they aren’t paired to the vehicle and it will learn the sensors that are on it after a short period of time without dealer programming?
Thanks

I have a 2011 JGC, and am in the UK, and have done exactly what you are talking about. It does seem that there is a change around 2015, so please double check.

My car came with 20" wheels, but to get reasonable priced AT tyres, it was convenient to drop to 18" rims, which I picked up from Ebay.

I then purchased 4 sensors from Ebay for £24, and was a bit sceptical whether they would work, as the local tyre places that would work on wheels with TPMS wanted £105 per wheel.

Anyway, I had them fitted, and sure enough the Jeep picked them up within 2 mins of the new wheels being fitted.

For my car, the part numbers were either 56029398AB or 68241067AB, try an Ebay search, and see what comes up in your neck of the woods.

I did exactly the same as yourself, with the same outcome on a 2016 Overland. Bought 18" rims and tyres second hand, they were fitted with TPMS sensors and the car accepted them o.k
Then 3 months later one failed, bought one off ebay, no problems. As you say the frequency probably needs checking mine was 433mhz from memory.

My 2014 eBay sensors have 50,000km on them now. They are a genuine Mopar item, so I didn't expect anything less.

I can dig up the seller if you want a tested source.

Cheers, Steve
