Thanks davidd yes did try this but no fuel in breather lines. Did find the small breather hose not even connected properly as they had pushed it together but not far enough to engage the clip, disappointing that supposed professionals have not pride in their work.

same with mine. they did the tsb in a quite shitty way. instead of bolting the vent filter to the metal filler neck with a sheet metal screw, as instructed in the tsb, they used a small cable tie. they got all the vent hoses twisted and hanging free and didn't use proper cable ties as per the tsb. i had to re-do everything properly in factory way myself.

that's the thing i don't get it.
there's a vent/breather plastic hose (updated to larger dia by the tsb), extension with a joiner clip, going up to the filler neck and connecting to the vent filter. that's i presume the breather/vent, right?
then there's s small hose (its extension updated to same dia(?) by the tsb) from the valve that's becoming a metal pipe up to the filler neck. what's this hose for? a recirculation line? what does it do? on the filler neck, which is metal, it's welded to the filler metal pipe.
davidd, how does the whole thing work?

euge i don't know. the only breather i know aqbout is the one coming from the top of the rear of the tank, the filler hose goes to the tank and also the fuel pump is fitted. that breathe goes across the vehicle, has a joiner in it part way across the vehicle, and goes on up to the filler neck. that's the one you blow air in to free the stuck rollover valve. don't know anything about the other one, but have heard of it. that's why i asked.

It comes across with the other breather and filler hose just under the bracket that holds the handbrake cable.

Guys try this it worked on my crd , those two hoses that run across the car under the handbrake cable , dissconnect them and run them over the handbrake cable mount & see if that makes a difference , since i done mine there doesnt seem to be fuel left in the breather which was lying horizontal. worked for me time taken 5 mins.
