throttle response - normal?

I'm just getting used to my 2017 Laredo diesel, and for the most part I'm loving it. The only thing I'm not liking is the way it responds to the pressure on the accelerator. Very gentle is ok, but just a little more pressure gets a more aggressive response to what I am expecting. Seems worse when reversing, and worse again if reversing uphill or with trailer on, when a gentle pressure is not enough to get moving, then a bit more is too much and I have to ease off.
Very hard to drive it smoothly in these conditions.
Is it just something to get used to, or is it a sign of a problem? Is there some electronic component that needs recalibrating?

yes, what Thommo18 said. My 2017 Laredo seemed to do the same thing after my diesel Territory but I’m fairly used to it now. A mate that moved from a WH Crd to a 2015 WK found it quite disconcerting for a while. Give it time.

All fly by wire throttles are shit mate. They shouldn't be but they are.

Yes, I've also come from a WH CRD and it was quite different.

If it really annoys you in the end you could get one of the below and run it in one of the economy modes. Don't believe the advertising about it making more power etc. All these do is change the signal to the throttle body.

You can prove this by accelerating to say 40km/h, hold it at that with the pedal, then change up the modes in performance mode from 1 up 9 and the car will accelerate. Basically they tell the ecu the pedal is pushed down further than they actually are. Economy mode is opposite. You have to push the pedal further before it will react.
You could run it in economy mode when towing slowly to get some lag in the pedal and that might satisfy you.
I have run one on an amorok for years to solve a different problem with the fly by wire and gear selection coming to a stop. Sort of fixed it but I got used to it.

When I got mine back after Murchinson flash tune the throttle response was awesome. As time goes by almost 12mths now since tune I feel it is getting back to the annoying lag and then way to much throttle.

I think the computer learns over time and we end up with this lack of feel with the go pedal. Will disconnect battery overnight when I get a chance to test this theory.
