Not for private use, but there are very stringent rules that CASA are starting to enforce. If you make money from your videos you have to be a licensed UAV operator and a registered company operator.

We are UAV registered pilots.

About $3000 for a 3 day course to get the pilots license
Then around 2500 - 4000 depending on paying for help to get an operators license. You can fly off other companies ops license for a fee though.

Its like you are the pilot but qantas is the operator...

If you are not making money though then at this point in time you are free to fly. Just make sure you understand the the CASA safe flying rules and guidlines cos if someone reports you then they will pursue it.

A good example is the 4wd action videos - they use drones so I would think they are licensed as they sell the DVDs.
