Default Wk2 bash plate- which one?

Hi

I'm looking to fit a bash plate to my 2012 WK2.
I see there are two available. Uneek and Chief products.

They are fitted slightly differently, where it looks like the strength in the chief one is from the rolled lip, and uneek has bigger bolts.

Anyone seen both fitted? And which do you think it better?

Cheers
Chris

There is a bit more effort in fitting the uneek one, you have to drill holes in the cross member. The Chief one uses the original screw holes. It seems the older models of Grand Cherokee had less steel here to bite into, so there is the risk of stripping the thread if you over tighten. But you can always just put a couple roofing screws through the front lip if you have to.

They both do the same job.

I have the Chief bash plate so cannot comment on the Uneek item. The Chief plate is well made, easy to fit, came with good instructions and seems to do the job fine. Perfectly happy.

Uneek for me but dont think you can go wrong with either.

Again well made and easy to follow instructions.

But as mentioned a bit more work to fit.

2011 Ltd Crd, Uneek bar & plate, Murch lift, Mopar sliders & plates. Murch snorkle on order.

Default Bash plates

So guys took the GC for its first real bit of offroading on the weekend and even though it went pretty well, I realised it's limitations (totally stock), particularly in ride height. This being the case I am now in the market for some underbody protection. So far have found the sump plate and transmission plate from Chief to be what I am after. In saying this though I would like to know from you good folk if there is anything else I should be looking at in this area?
