Default Xtreme Production Winch Challenge

Has anyone been thinking about entering this event? It'll be based around lower QLD, upper NSW based on the XWC spots and from the rules I can't see how a Wrangler wouldn't be perfect for it.

The series is going to be for QLD rego vehicles - meaning that the mods must be street legal and you can't do any wild mods that didn't come with that vehicle - as in you can't do a late model motor swap or v8, can't put GU diffs in GQ, etc

However you can do diff locks and gears

So here is my idea for the winning truck

01+ TJ wrangler
4.56 gears
2x ARB Air lockers
2 inch suspension lift (your choice)
1.25 inch body lift
32x11.5 wheels on steel rims (no beadlocks that the rules)
good competition cage
seats and harnesses
other racing apparell like UHF and blueant coms

Biggest one is a gun hill climbing navi...
Make no mistakes the navi is the most important part of the team... if he takes 2 minutes longer to hook up the winch your stuffed!

Your in the winners circle...

What do you reckon...

This event isn't XWC.

It is based on production vehicles meaning that the tires can be a max of 33s
You can't run big dollar winches with air free spool, you can't even run 24V

It will be really easy for most jeepers out there to get into.
The jeeps will have power the others can only dream of out of the box as your not allowed to turbo or supercharge your engines... in fact on outers the MMM quote is " if it didn't come in that year model - you can't have it"

Unfortunatly my TJ is too modified now for this class but I'd almost think about buying another one just to do this class...

Again the NAV is going to be the make or break of this team... get someone young, fit and smart... no penalties and hook up quicker than anyone else and your in for the win...

They aren't gonna touch you on the high speed stuff...

a low COG jeep, would do very well... do the hi hood conversion ( make it look stock.. run 35s with some decent ratios...

looks like it could be a decent event tho..

If you read the whole thread on outers,

It states that all cars must be legal in Qld, subjective at best.

But the clincher is, 33's are the maximum no matter what the car.
But the maximum is still 15mm over standard.

i.e. TJ = 29.1" tyres

Another pootrol comp
