Default 2019 Tail Light Assy's on earlier model/s??

Hey I notice the Tail Lights on the 2019 KL are MUCH better than the earlier model ones.

Does anyone know whether the later assemblies will fit earlier models?

The issue with earlier light assys is that the indicators are way too small. I have been behind other KL's and especially at night with brake lights on the indicators are barely visible. 2019 model seems to have entirely recognised and fixed that issue.

The light units (ie the sections on both the lifgate and on rear quarters) LOOK to be the same outside shape so hopefully they attach and electrically connect the same!

Prerty sure they are a different shape.

I replaced the globes with high powered LED that had LEDs around the sides and a spot light type inn the ends. Bloody bright now!

Thanks Dave! - that kind of option hadn't even occurred to me!!

Do you mean just the indicator lamp? - and I won't hold it against you if you don't / can't but could I get a part number?

Still keen on finding out what specific bulbs you've used - ie. canbus suitable?

UPDATE: I now have an OBD2 bluetooth module and phone app that lets me set vehicle config to use LED lamps - so no worrying about blowing $$ on led lamps that wont be compatible. I can also now do PROXI alignments myself - so I can do component replacements myself without having to use a dealer purely because of the PROXI thing.
