Feeling for ya' Pete. Bulk buying relays (aka band aids) is a sad 'must do' but hopefully keeps your wheels turning...

At this stage the band aid approach is working and doesnt particularly bother me....will use 2 of my 3 fav stores 2moro to restock on relays, filters n oils for the next service (oil, filters..all this time including the cabin filter, difs n transfer case)....while Im in the oil n filters store I may have a look for a bulk buy (5-10lt.) on a Fuel Lubricant....will see whats available and make a decision.....there's also a Repco and a Bursons in that Town so will have a little look around at prices and availibilty....its starting to bother me that my previously MOST fav store...Uncle Dans...is no longer being my most frequent haunt...not that there's an Uncle Dans in that Town...just an observation.
I have a short gig around your area later this week Tony....will see what that leads to and may catch up down the track.
ENJOY !!!

ps: For the servicing enthused....I am interesred in seeing the state of the 'dropped' oils....Moreys was added to all and have done approx 1/3 of use towing and 2/3 long distance....minority being these 'short start trips'....diffs and transfer case being of most interest....oil in engine sump is BLACK...that I know from 'dipping'.....I know....I need to get a life when things like this are a matter of interest...excuse my 'small mindedness'.....just a boring soul but old enough not to care what others think and remain in that comfort zone.

That is one I will look at...there's 2 more that tweak my interest...one I have used in a tired (800k plus) merc 5 cyclinder turbo Sprinter and another with some 'decent' UTUBE inputs....silly as ot sounds....that one gets a 'rap' in truck drags...trailers attached...oooops....really let my 'redneck' get exposed...humblest apologies to any that were impacted or effected.

It was a toss up between the Fuel Doc or Moreys juice and mainly for the extra lube for the moving bits in the fuel system, Fuel Doc won because of the easy to measure container, don't want to be stuffing around measuring out the stuff at the bowser, bad enough having to use the Jeeps mini funnel to get past the stupid flaps in the filler..
Mine has the no cap city wanker filler .......

Your reasoning and graphic descriptions astound me...not hard...but still....I can completely visualise all you stated....will check whats on offer...like you...its for fuel system lube, not an additive for cleaning or power increase....and thanks for for the smile,...its the little things that need to be appreciated...the big things are few n far between.

Pretty sure I spoke to soon on the start run stop issue not being the 'stalked' tranny with my 'el cheapo' Moreys fix....cold n wet here this morning...hit the go button and..start...run for a few seconds...stop....filled the tank late last night before parking up, so system would have been 'chockers'....did a 'prime cycle'....started and ran, as it has done recently when the run stop problem has reared its ugly head......relay is brand new and wouldnt have done more than 20klm and had about 5 or 6 starts on it....soooooo.....looks like the cold mornings and 'pea soup' I have in the tranny is causing problems....upside...the relay I took out wasnt binned and is in the wheel well for a spare....downside.... $5.5k for a tranny....bugger
