I await your report on the job, something I just want to look at and hope I never have to go there myself.............. Like @OLMATE I wonder if pirtek or Enzed can make up a hose, I've had them do roadside on trucks and tractors.

I have had some preliminary thoughts on if I ever have to change this hose from hell :-
1. I would not be using the genuine part again it is known to fail. Good quality silicone hose and clamps would be substituted.
2. Would be planning to clean inlet manifold while it is off the car.
3. They talk about one use fuel lines that need to be replaced I would be ordering those along with intake caskets from RockAuto.

I dont blame you mate, friggin $700 for a bloody rubber hose, Once you have it off you,ll be able to check the i/d of the hose and measure the o/d of the fitting, and I would be enquiring about getting one made up/ cut to size, still cant fathom how they come up with a figure of $700

Because they can! I reckon they must have determined a half reasonable figure then added another zero. Yet another disgusting rip-off.

I gave up when I asked the price of a hand brake cable for my WG 10 yrs ago, they quoted something like $280 and need to be ordered, I ordered one from Rockauto, $39 + $45 postage, arrived in 5 days quicker and cheaper and huge saving made.
I rarely buy genuine if ever anyway.......
