Post 50 inch light bar whistling
Hi guys,

I'm looking for some light bar ATM. I heard that installing a roof light bar would b causing some whistling issue. I called some light bar supplier this morning, and they told me that it was caused by inproper installation. Is this true? I wonder is it quite often the 50'' roof light bar whistling?

I've heard of this before and pretty sure the solution is to tape up the back of the light bar where the divots are (sorry unsure of the technical word for them)

Yeah, mine whistles too, there's some clips you can Chuck on the fins, rubber and plastic things

They all whistle because of the air flowing over the cooling fins on the rear of the light.

Go to Clark Rubber and get yourself either some U-seal or pinch weld.

Buy enough to cover two rows of fins. Place one lot on the bottom fin and another 2 - 3 fins above that.

After this you may get some noise if it's a windy day and coming from side on but apart from that this will stop the noise.

Before I took mine off, my cheap ass solution was the foam beans you get in packing crates etc. Just neatly stuffed in a few in each channel to stop the resonance, and no more humming!
