Question Non-Angry Grille

Hey everyone, I’m new to the forums and also new to Jeeps in general, just bought a 2015 2 door in orange!

Anyway, I am currently planning a whole bunch of upgrades, starting with the easier ones, and one of the parts I’m looking for is a matte black grill to replace my stock orange one. However, I’m really not a fan of these “angry” style grilles and it seems virtually impossible to find anything else. I’ve searched all over the internet.

Ideally I’m looking for something stock-looking like this https://www.extremeterrain.com/barri...k-j100721.html but even that’s not available on the store anymore, and they don’t ship to Australia anyway.

Does anyone have any ideas where I could look? As a last resort I could get my stock orange grille repainted but I would prefer to leave it as is just in case I want to go back.

That would be my first option. Then if you really like it, either touch up as needed or respray with a more permanent paint, or have it done professionally.

I'd go for plastidip or a decal cover in whatever colour and finish suits you. The grille is completely removable with hand tools at home so there is a way to cut costs if a shop wants to charge tool time to remove and refit. Both can be removed and returned to stock colour if you prefer, plus provide some added protection from bug strikes

Hey everyone, thanks for the replies. Looks like Plastidip is the way to go, I will give that a try.

Matte black grills are available and come up for sale every now and then.

Before I bought mine, I plastidipped my original with about 4 - 5 coats and it was still in good condition when I replaced it 2 - 3 years later.

You'll need around 4 cans do it. Have a look at some sellers on ebay and you'll get it cheaper than in an auto store.
