Default Online machine shop. DIY on CAD and wait.

http://www.emachineshop.com/

Was posted on a BMW forum I visit.
You use their CAD software to design what you want. It either auto-quotes or sends off. responds. You submit design for purchase and they send it out.

Maybe worth it, maybe not.

Wow, great concept. Interesting to see how the price drops when you order multiple units.

Thats just the sort of thing I'm looking for. I have a bumper bracket I've mapped out in solidworks that also acts as reinforcing for the steering box but I dont really want to have to cut it with the angle grinder. Shame one offs aren't cheaper and they're in the US though

Anyway, here's my bumper and the bracket. Not finished yet as I need to pull the real bumper off and see how this might look but the brackets and holes are all right etc just need to fine tune for the size of bumper I decide to build.

As you can also see this is just a bumper shell with no reinforcing etc yet.

Cheers
Steve

That is very interesting. Have you seen/considered http://www.linuxcad.com/? ... as the costs of 1. CATIA, 2. SolidWorks, 3. AutoCAD and so on are serious.

If FIE is not a major motivator for you LinuxCad could be worth your consideration.

There is also a company in Brisbane called Bylaser which do this sort of stuff. Jimmy has used them a few times.
