Default Car shakes

G'day All,

My wife's Jeep Grand Cherokee 2013 has been shaking randomly when driving anywhere between 50-90kph. It shakes when doing 55kph, got my foot off the accelerator it stops, and put my foot on the accelerator and it shakes again. When I got to my drive way it shakes quite violently, even when the car is fully stopped. When I reversed the car in my driveway it still shakes. This leads me to believe it's not the tire.

The car is V6 diesel. There is no service light on the dashboard.

Please do let me know if you experienced this problem before.

Thanks for your help.

most of what you describe points to death woble from a broken or damaged suspension or stering component. However if its shaking when stopped but running I would look into your engine and/or transmission mounts.

My mind went straight to the mounts as well.

Thanks all for your prompt reply.

The problem happens quite randomly, it could be ok for 3-4 days or happens a few times a day.

Would the randomness of the shakes caused by engine/transmission mounts?

Do you roughly know how much the engine/transmission mounts cost?

Thanks again for your help.

Bad injector or coked up inlet valve/s that could occasionally not fully closing could be causing one or more cylinders to go intermittent.
That causes them to shake like jelly.

I would be checking the inlet manifold for excessive coking.

Sounds a lot like the symptoms in this Service bulletin for some 2014 Grands.
