Default Rear Window winder Broken

Hi all
Today my rear passenger window winder broke and popped through the door lock leaving my window loose So being the good owner of a KJ I am, Ive taken it upon myself (Im getting good at repairing the KJ ), to repair it. Apparently this is quite common in the US so Ive found a site (see link), that explains step by step on how to but doesn't give a part number.

http://www.denlorstools.com/autoblog...lems-diy-tips/

Does anybody here know the part number by any chance?

Cheers

You can find the part # here in the online Parts Catalog. This is for an 06 KJ but the part number is probably the same across the years. Look in the body section and use the expansion menus to drill down to what you want.

The KJ has 2 different window and regulator combos. Call your local dealer with the VIN number and they will tell you what you require. The part number on that list is old, The new number will end in an AE or AF by memory.

I just had my rear right go tonight. First off, I blamed my little nephew who was messing about with the window switch--then I read the internet and found out yet another common Jeep problem.

I've just emailed Jon Steiger and will see what comes of that. If I end up going with his version as a replacement, I'll do a post of how it goes.

Also, if you are looking at buying the same--definately pull your door cover off an have a look at what regulator mechanism you have. I have a late 2006/2007 (2007 Badged) model KJ, but it has the earlier model 02-06 regulator.

I had just replaced my mums right rear regulator around christmas time and the new one has already broken and the window has only been used a half a dozen times. She was going to take it back but cant find the reciept. After pulling it apart and seeing how weak the connection is I new this would be a common problem what goes through the designers head when they build these things? will look at buying the stieger parts did anyone have any dramas ordering theres and how long did they take to get here?
I have araldited it for now Im not expecting it to last to long though
Cheers
