Thanks guys - definitely no regrets in choosing the V8. I certainly didn't pick it for the fuel consumption! Just want to make sure this is 'normal'. Is everyone happy with the way the auto reacts in traffic and with very light throttle openings? I occasionally get a some surge when the gears shift (up or down). Doesn't happen all the time but I've been used to operating a manual so maybe expect too much from the auto.

Definitely can't wait to take her off road. Might enrol in some sort of how to drive a 4WD course first...

I have the diesel. But the V8 is better. Because it's a V8. Enjoy it mate, that's awesome. Should be more of them. If it makes you feel better, diesel is more expensive, which closes the gap a little.
