lol...not a chance in hell I'd drive into that......
Some guys in, I think, a Hilux had to be rescued this weekend after trying to cross a fast moving swollen river and getting themselves stuck on a rock........not the smartest thing I've seen.

It was charging along. We found camp nearby and a few groups stopped by to say hi.

Apparently some guy did it in a kitted out Ranger and it started floating sideways. Nobody else tried it.

Scary stuff. About windshield height on river rocks with tar much flow

Check out my Ride(s)

I've actually had the experience of being washed off a flooded causeway, but in a 4x4 TK Bedford truck.
Had a settlement cut off by flood waters and they needed fuel for the bores and generators.
Going over was OK, sort of, but after refueling everything the truck was lighter.
The rear axle went first and the truck followed in reverse.
Fortunatly, it jammed up against some trees so it just become a big recovery mission. Took more than a Jeep to get it out though.
In hindsight, it should have been a warning to me when I couldn't get anyone to ride with me.
I'm a slow learner though. Since then I have crossed a few flooded river crossings, fortunately with no adverse consequences.
That doesn't mean that I'm not bloody stupid for trying them though.

That was the Turon river as well, so we got to see what could of happened, I think that was also at a causeway off the Bridle track but the concrete markers were under water (should have been a clue for them)

I crossed that river a month ago (off the Bridle track as well at a crossing much like the original posters one), hardy flowing and still got up to bonnet height.

Cheers
Steve
