Just a theory but Is it possible one of your steering components has been damaged and is bent? If this has happened and the steering wheel was centered afterwards would it be possible the steering wheel looks to be in the right spot when in fact it isn't?

How do your tyres wear? If it's it's happened after the lift install the first things I would check is that all the wiring retainers are still located and no chaffed or damaged wiring. Then confirm the steering is definately correct position.

If your control arm bushes (especially the rear) are flogged out, although being centered, the rear axle can, (depending on road camber or acceleration or deceleration), act like a 4 wheel steer set up and make the vehicle crab or turn differently to what the esp is expecting. Given the age of your JK and given that it is lifted and has oversize tyres, I'd be checking out this relatively cheap possibility first.
This was the fix for mine. Let us know how you go.

The plot thickens,

I used the ProCal to centre the wheel. check.

The bushings on the parts look okay, nothing moves or rattles. Could it possible have to do with the LCA?

So here is the plan, hopefully I'll find someone in Newcastle to help me sort this out. Someone with more Jeep PITA experience

Any volunteers?

The most common reason for cruise not to set is incorrect tire size programmed into the ecu. I suggest you physically measure your tire diameter and use the procal to enter the measured value. If it doesn’t fix the cruise problem, try entering the next step down, if that doesn't work, try the next step up (can be a bit finicky).

Who knows, incorrect tire size may even be the cause of the ESP fault.

I had something kinda similar happen while driving a mate's JK - he had a faulty (but still partially working) wheel speed sensor so sometimes the ESP would get disabled while turning right (ESP and ABS lights on) and then start working again while driving straight or the other way round, ESP would kick in and lose its mind while turning right after which the ESP/ABS lights were on and ESP switched off.

It could also be as simple as the wiring for the wheel speed sensor, maybe it's pinched or whomever installed your lift didn't disconnect it when the axle was lowered and now there is a dry contact.
