Default Auto lights not working

Have a 2014 Diesel Overland which I think is great.Am slowly setting it up for the Kimberly's April next year.
Having a problem with the auto lights feature
During the day when the light switch is set to Auto it doesn't illuminate the large led screen as if it thinks its night time.
I can turn the switch to manual lights and then roll the lamp switch to full and it comes on but I quite like the Auto feature
Anybody experience this ? Is it just a simple light sensor switch change over on the top of the dash ???

I think you hit the nail on the head.. it doesn't illuminate the screen during the day because it IS DAYTIME. If you cover or block the daylight sensor it will think it's night all the time and turn the low beams on.
