This month has been a busy one in the Jeep Action workshop.First off was a JK CRD clutch replacement. The condition of the clutch bearing was a good reminder that mud and clutches don’t mix. It was interesting to see the dual-mass flywheel that is part of the diesel engine clutch set up. Assembling our new Mopar half doors was another interesting undertaking.
As I mention in the article on page 52, every single item is an individual part number, from the door shell, right down to every nut, screw and clip. I found a spare spot in the workshop, laid everything out on tables and just worked on the assembly when time permitted. Chrysler Australia worked with me on supplying parts to finalise the half doors and supply the upper half doors as well. Anyone interested in buying Mopar half doors can send me an email.
Other workshop jobs have been the ongoing Project J20, a CJ7 gearbox change, Patriot brakes and repairs and servicing on our Jeeps. Enjoy this month’s issue.
Enjoy this month’s issue.
