Default front driveshaft problem

Hi all,

Jk 2011 CRD 2-DR with automatic transmission and a problem on u-joint front driveshaft.
I would want to know if I can only replace u-joint or do I have to change the whole front drive shaft as the dealer says ?
know the number of the U-joint?
thank you

The U joint is staked in ( no circlips ), so not designed to be replaced.
However a driveshaft place MAY be able to replace the joint but cost could be a factor.

If you are looking at buying a new OE shaft... DON'T waste your money, aftermarket driveshafts are much higher quality and significantly cheaper.

If it's only a 2011 year model wouldn't warranty cover it?

Depends on how/why its damaged... offroad carnage?

Yeah I went Tom Woods... easy to install (did have a hand) and is a lot better then the OEM one... I now want to replace the rear shaft!! I would replace it personally.

but as the u joint is blocked if there is no circlips ?
and how much it might cost to replace to driveshaft place ?
