Hi all, I am a newbie and Female. I bought a 2007 KJ Cherokee Turbo Diesel few weeks ago but drivers window doesn't work (an older guy I bought it off had a new window regulator still in the box but he ordered wrong one from the UK). PlEASE PlEASE can someone help me as I have no idea what is the right one I need and where do I buy the correct one from plus where do I take it to to get it installed...Mechanic ? Electrician ?. Years ago I would have done it myself but now I am too old (72) . I don't even know if this is the correct site/forum to post this in. Regards from Welshcake (yes I am Welsh from Old South Wales now live in New South Wales).

Welcome.

Ah, window regulators....

this may be the one:

A mechanic or a panel repair shop should be able to assist.

It may be worthwhile getting someone to check that power is actually getting thru to the motor assembly, the switch could also be faulty. This is a common issue with XJ's.

Cheers.

Yes, there are a few types , as I recently discovered myself.
Seems the newer 2006> have a different connection to the window, even the window shape is different on the bottom.

The link to the one in Mace1 post is the correct one. The plastic actually clips into holes in the glass, where , the older version the window has a metal plate with two pins attached that slot into the regulator. Also as Mace1 suggests, it's a good idea to get the power checked in the process.

I would think either a mechanic, or auto sparky would be able to do the work.

I actually did an old trick of using wire to repair the regulator plastic. Bit tricky but works.

You could also see if a wreckers has the entire window regulator as a secondhand part???

And welcome to the forum
