Default Transmission fault

Think I might of found the source of the transmission limp mod from when I first bought this Jeep and drove it home.

I'll have a better look tomorrow and check the wiring schematic to see what the wires are running.

Looks like this jeep may have had the trannie out for the F37 recall and there is a wiring harness clamp on the bellhousing that the harness wasn't reattached to.
Looks like this timing belt job just keep getting bigger and bigger.

Melted wires are never good, hopefully it's only shorting the connection and not blowing the circuits in the TCM.

Default Tcm

Haven't had a good look yet but not sure if it is into the copper on any but if it is that may have been why the trannie went into limp mode for a 100 or so Km's when I first drove it home that or it appears to be a little low on Trannie fluid.

Check your input and output sensors on the tranny. Tranny limp mode can be caused by a mismatch in what the TCM is expecting to see. Over heating is the biggest cause of tranny problems, and the problem often goes away when it is cool. Do you have a code reader?

When my brother picked me up from the airport in it it threw the engine light, and I had brought my obd adapter and cleared it whilst driving back to his place, car was driving fine.
Drove it about 600km's back to Brissy and never missed a beat. Got in it the next morning and drove about 2 km's up the road and it dropped out of overdrive into 3 gear limp mode. Couldn't reset the fault so drove the back way home at 80km/h for 200km's. Pulled over 20k from home to take a leak and I was able to reset the fault but I took note of the error code. Turns out it is a solenoid fault, can't remember the exact one but I finally worked out the trannie fluid needs to be checked running so instead of being slightly over full it is actually low. I'm doing the trannie filters and fluid along with all the other stuff so hopefully the correct level and fresh oil solves that problem.

It also has the updated solenoid pack with the white connector.
