E10 isn't recommended for marine applications either, though I would have though most boats would use a diesel engine (with the exception of speed boats & outboard engines)
So which brand/dilution of ethanol mix did you use exclusively?... you haven't mentioned yet

Basically whoever sold it. Mainly shell I guess, but occasionally the others including the independents.

Thanks, so you'd be in one of the Northern States I imagine? Our varied temperature range here in Victoria I would suggest was another contributing factor to the E10 absorbing water molecules (most likely from condensation) during the warmer part of the day and releasing a portion of those molecules as the mercury went south over night (as phase separation is climate related)
