Default Xj front shaft

So just took the front driveshaft in to get reco'd as it had play in both the spline and unis. (98 Cherokee)

Came through at around $400 as basically everything was shot.

Is there any complete aftermarket shfts or NOS floating about that would be more cost effective or is reco the way to go?

Thats not to pain full for a full redo with known parts.
If you can't do it your self then thats quote is probably more than half labor. I'm not a fan of some of the cheap options available on the inter webs. I am thinking that a lot of seconds are being flogged off.

I assume you are talking the shaft from the transfer case to the front diff.
If the yokes (splines) at the diff & TC have been refurbed, that is cheap. I hope they did the unis with good quality replacements.
It is surprising that the front is worn out, it doesnt do much work, only in 4WD.

Unless the diff had free wheeling hubs the front drive shaft has spun every klm from new.

Heavy duty spicer uni and carden joint. Plus slip yoke and balance.

Can do the work. Just don't have the time. Sounds like its fair price.

Yes, without any serious load. Well greased, with no load will last a long time.
