Talking XJ: Chopped Build

here i am thinking i might take a grinder to my belovered jeep again
I am going to start a "ute" chop basicly to move the rear tyre from hanging off the rear bar (bad departure angle ) and mount in on the back on a cage (good depature angle ) I have been thinking about it for a while just want to here other peoples views/pros and cons on the idea.. i added some pics i think??? show ya what i'm aiming for

That's exactly what im thinking will happen to mine soon. As much as I love the Wagons a chop and dovetail tray setup would be awsome.

I regret not doing it to the ole silver one, but its gone now. From my experience pulling the roof sections off etc, its not a hard job, the main park is reinforcing the sides.

i did this to my patrol and all i can say is.

it looked bloody awsome, but i regret doing it. keep the wagon unless all you care about is looks. less room inside not as practical bla bla bla

just my humble opinion

I was more thinking along the lines of doing it to make it more Roll cage friendly. I had invisaged solid barwork around the back with an integrated internal cage. Hard to explain but i thought it would be nuts.

When mine ends up going over i hope the back gets damaged if anything as it'd just give me an excuse to chop it.
