Hoppy99.
Yes I replaced it with an after market bar (Trailboss as no HR available and I needed bar...see earlier post with photos). No issue with dealer(Nunawading Jeep) either with quick removal, document showing proof of removal and letter of valuation for factory bar as sales invoice showed zero. I just emailed all paperwork to FCA, got a confirmation of receipt of documents about a week later and got money in bank in about another 2 weeks.

Your document showing proof of removal .... what was it? My VIC dealer refused to remove as they didn't have a reo to put back in after removal of the Mopar bar - as apparently there was an email from FCA to the dealers last week that without photo evidence, no refund of costs to the dealership. Even though I had TOSSA lined up to install a Hayman Reese on their premise (arranged 2 weeks prior), they still refused - and not installing the reo apparently isn't returning the car to previous specification. As I needed that HR installed, the TOSSA installer followed me back home and installed it there as he had a HR reinforcement kit that meant he could install it without the reo. Am going to try and get a reo anyway, but right now I'm good to tow again ... and I've already got my refund from FCA.

Dealer gave me “no charge” invoice showing removal carried out under warranty as well as a copy of their “cost of warranty work done” claim invoice to FCA showing my vehicle details. I’m fairly sure they also had to provide photo evidence of disabled bar to FCA but I didn’t see it.

Ok
After a long day on the phone, lots of buck passing and then a bit more buck passing, I have a positive result.
FCA told me they have a “fix kit” arriving soon for existing towbars and this was also backed up by my dealer. Its apparently is a few nuts, bolts and washers and due at the end of June. I was given a removal option but only with a $1000 refund, so no labour refund costs. Or possibly a 2014 model towbar that fits apparently but they are very hard to get hold of. So, I’ve opted for the “fix kit” at the end of June.
I don’t need to tow anything for a while so I am prepared to wait but I’m just blown away with all the drama I had to go through for a few nuts and bolts!!!

As a result of my enquiries, the dealer has today finally sent my VIN to FCA to make it official. For anyone else who is concerned, check the model of your tow bar if fitted recently because I was told that I'm not the only person that didn't receive the recall notice.

Made a few phone calls today, and to their credit Jeep were actually pretty good. Put me onto Tow bar place north or river Perth, and they have me booked in on Tuesday to get HR put on. $800 out of pocket but will get that back with all the paperwork. It seems that is also a good price. I was told by dealer they are expecting the recall parts middle of June, but I can not wait that much longer. Will update when it gets fitted and if there are any dramas with reimbursement.

Geez....all this bullshit over loose bolts and dodgy washers. Would have thought the fix was easy and straight forward.
