Different version of motor.

You should have an ENR

ENR 2.8 from 2002 - 2007
ENS 2.8 from 01/08 - 12/09

Cheers.

Default crank angle sensor

Bought a bosch crank angle sensor of ebay.

Arrived at my door in a week for $70 total.

Haven't fitted it yet , it looks like the one and the bosch number is the correct match.

Cheapest I could get in Australia was around $250 for a non genuine after-market brand. Easy decision.

But what is the difference? Can a ENS be used as a replacement for an ENR ?
How do you spot the difference?
Thanks in anticipation. Looking at replacement engines at the moment.

The 2002-2007 relate to the KJ engine, the 01/08-12/09 relates to the KK engine (which is slightly different ( uses a slightly different cam drive system).

I keep a box of sensor spares that I pickted up over the years from US suppliers like IDparts and Morris4x4. It is worth while accumulating them. You can usually find cheap Bosch Boost COntrol Sensors on ebay, as some GM vehicles use the same sensor. I paid about $29 for a GM version of the Bosch Boost Control Sensor (aka the MAP - Manifold Abosolute Pressure).

Wow good one ... thats is cheap !

I looked on ebay couldn't find a 5066882AA that was local or cheap so ended up getting one from a jeep place in QLD 4x4point.com.au they shipped express post and was here in just a couple of days , was roughly $125 which i didn't think was too bad for a $10 part out of china .

What a pain in the ass it is to work on a KJ which is also what i though changing glow plugs, but one bolt and a plug that didn't want to detach it took way too long, and its in the most ridiculous location you have to bend your arm and hand in ways that you need double joints with no room to move, there was a lot of swearing. ( mythbusters says it helps )

I attacked it from underneath , remove bash plate and then just reach up behind the exhaust and unplug it and undo the hex bolt , but it was a son of a B$%$# ! oh and don't try to do it when the engine is hot you will swear even more
