Default Throttle Control light

Hi all.
I had the throttle warning light come on today (ETC) and according to the WH Jeep handbook this light is applicable only to the 5.7lt. V8 mine is a 3lt diesel. By cycling the ignition key 3 or 4 times fixed the problem temporarily. When the light is on throttle responce is affected.

Any help appreciated.

Regards Chris

Default Swirl motor

Thanks for the reply Clarky.
I looked up swirl motor and a resistor fix for it. It seems that the swirl motor is a complete waste of space. I will do some more research and hopefully get home with the caravan without too many problems.

Hi Clarky.
I have done the resistor fix today after trawling through lots of threads on the subject.
I haven't been anywhere to speak off as yet but there is no ETC light come on.
Lets hope it stays that way.
Thanks for the heads up on the matter.
Regards Chris

I have done the resistor fix but the light is still flashing. I have double checked the connections for the resistor but still not having the success that others have had on other forums. Is there a code that has to be cleared after the resistor is put in and if so what would the code be?

Help appreciated.

Regards Chris

is it still in limp mode? Are you sure you fitted a 4.7kΩ resistor (4700Ω)?

Yes it is in limp mode and yes I installed a 4K7 resistor .25w resistor. I am going to get some metal 4K7 1w resistors and try them.
