Default Steel wheels early CJ5

Hi,

My early CJ5 Combat 6 has white spoked Sunraysia-style wheels, 15 x I think 7". From photos from the PO, it originally had steel wheels, possibly 16" but maybe 15", but standard disc type not spoke type. Some Jeeps of around this era, including a CJ5 photographed on Bondi Beach in 1960, had these wheels with chrome hubcaps. Does anyone know where one could find wheels like this? I am wanting to do mine up in a Tuxedo Park style, and it seems from many period photos that Jeeps were often fitted out with road wheels like this.

I understand that Ford 5 stud wheels are 5x5.5" stud pattern, which is the CJ5 pattern. However, my Sunraysias have a 4 1/8" central hole to clear the locking hubs, whereas F100 5 stud wheels I found on Ebay have only a 3 1/8" central hole. Not sure whether they can be modified safely.

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers,

Gordon

Suzuki siera, vitara & diahatsu rocky, feroza use same bolt pattern but with the larger central hole, dont know if it helps.

Yes I guess so. The stud pattern is 5x5.5, and the central hole I have on the Sunraysias is 4 1/8" to clear the antique free wheeling hubs. I'm thinking of taking the freewheeling hubs off, as the Jeep won't be doing a lot of work and the hubs are, well, fugly. The wheels in the picture look to have a smaller central hole, but that might be ok without the freewheeling hubs? Is the wheel in the picture a Jeep wheel? It certainly looks like the type I am after. Is it a 15" or 16"? My Jeep originally had wheels looking like that, but not sure what size they were.

Thanks,

Gordon

Sorry. Re-read your post - they are off a CJ, and I presume original Cj wheels. Yes, that's the look.

standard wheels for cj,s up till the mid 70,s were 16 x4.5 in . As turbomart said early suzuki sierra, sj40s etc used the same type wheels. If you find any jeep wheels they can only be fitted with tube type tyres NOT tubeless as they are not JJ type rims
