Default Stellantis Jeep??

Hmmm..A new owner again formed by the 2021 merger of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and the PSA Group on the basis of a 50-50 cross-border merger agreement..Stellantis Australia, formerly known as Chrysler Australia and FCA Australia, is the official Chrysler subsidiary, operating as distributor of Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Abarth, Alfa Romeo and Fiat vehicles...hardly an eye catching name..FCA was bad enough..Stellantis Jeep..I suppose the Latin works: “stello” meaning pertaining to stars, star-like, to brighten with stars
.

The autos are made under licence in the US.

Not all of them, some are made by ZF themselves.

Hello Drover...Done as of 19 January 2021..Six months after Stellantis was announced as the name of the merger between Fiat Chrysler Group (FCA) and the Peugeot Group (PSA) & yes I have had 6 Jeeps since 1996 & currently own a Grand Trailhawk but they are now getting expensive & yes the exchange rate has a lot to do with it so Jeep has tried to position the brand into the "Life Style" segment which to me means they do expect lower sales as a result of pricing..There is a lower limit to viable sales figures to maintain an Australian presence..Maybe the future with this merger will mean lower costs translating to lower unit price..Wonder if future model Grand Cherokees will be based on Peugeout platforms..Hmmm don't like French vehicles at all..Not that fussed on Fiat either but preferred to French..Well at least the 2022 Grand will be around for at least 6 to 10 years (depending on successful sales numbers) and hopefully it maintains offroad & trail rating creds.

"2022 Grand Cherokee: Based on an all-new platform shared with the accomplished Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio, it will be available in both five-seat and, for the first time, seven-seat versions when it arrives here either late this year or in early 2022."..No diesel & yes car makers are moving away from diesel so we have to take what we are given & EV are on the way which leaves me wondering about the practicability EV4WDs

I reckon the present WK2 would have to be the best for engine gearbox combo's but I did like the ZG for go anywhere do anything ability with less electronic BS to cause problems, you could do things to them, vehicles like the rest of the place are being drowned with PC rubbish.....If it goes Froggy then this WK will probably be my last, I might go back to the future with something old and less electronic.... To date there isn't any viable EV that will do what I do with a vehicle. Lots of places I travel to the nearest power pole is hundreds of KMs away and will never get any closer.....
