Parts have arrived from the states. Fitted the new thermostat over the weekend. Have not driven it much since then, but from what I can tell is when the temp reached 95 deg, the coolant temp dropped back down immediately to 87ish which is great or how it used to be.

From the short drives I could tell, it hovers around the 88-97 degrees cel mark.

Caught about 500ml of coolant during the process in a new/clean container, and poured it back into the reservoir.

Damage Under AU$70 shipped. Half of which was shipping fees.

Took off a few days ago with caravan in tow, first time for this car. Combo of level highway and some very hilly climbs on a 300km journey. Car loaded up, Van 2200kg, Ambient 27-30, Coolant stayed mainly around 88-90 rising to approx 100 on hill climbs then cooled down quickly.

Recently drove from Perth back up to Port Hedland - ambient hovered around the mid 40s for the last 1000kms of the trip, temp never went above 87deg.

However when on the beach and working hard she goes up to about 95 / 96.

Even the other day when we had a 45 degree day temp didnt see over 90 over the course of a 50km drive!

Car is a 2013 Diesel.
