Hi guys

I have just replaced all three front diff bushes with ones from JeepPerf, i have noticed the front is alot tighter, but i still seem to have a clunking in the front. I have noticed it when it changes gears sometimes which i never had it do before, the clunking is worse now than what it was before the bushes were changed. Any ideas ? Cheers and happy Easter

Have you changed the sway bar rubbers?

Could be that one of the diff mount bolts has stretched, or worn down at the shank or hole in the mounting plate has become elongated.

I get a bit of a clunk sometimes when up-shifting going down hill not accelerating, I'm fairly sure its the transfer case, maybe a slightly stretched chain.

Excessive on-float clunk
There's a shit-ton of slack in those transfer case chains
(shit-ton is a technical measurement indicating engineers didn't have
a clue when they designed something which resulted in going way
beyond anything a sensible person would even consider)
The clunk is the front and rear diff syncing with the engine torque.

I've just replaced the front output shaft bearings in the transfer
and this made a noticeable difference.
Even more than replacing the chain.
These 722.6 automatics have a really soft shift pattern,
so a noticeable clunk indicates a drive train issue.

Cheers
