Great thread AG. The wife's been talking about checking out Tassie soon (I done a big lap of the isle with my parents when I was about 15) and I remembered that you moved down there and bought a block so I thought I'd stalk you and wow, things have improved greatly for you! Nice thread and inspiring build on a shoestring budget! I'm a cabinetmaker/chippie myself and I must say your build is pretty schmick!

(Full credit to Rustynuts too, you're a legend!)

Thanks Benny hoping that I will have the house finished by Nov this year. I remember 4 years ago the house was all but a pipe dream, I never thought it would come to fruition and now I'm almost finished. Yepp Rustynuts certainly helped make the dream come true. . This week I have carpet in the bedrooms going in. In early Sep we are gonna have the veranda framing all done. I have ordered the timber for the veranda and I am just waiting for it to be milled. Definitely bring the wife down Benny Tas is a great place for a Holi. If you bring the Jeep, you could check out the Pyengana Jeep track, it was one of my old faves when I had my XJ up and going.

Built a linen press last week and fitted the shelves today. Just need doors and the end panel to finish it off but that might not happen this year as I have the veranda posts and beams going in, in just under two weeks.

I got the kitchen bench tops in over the last few days, All I need now is to order the back panels and finish the kick panels that I am making and install them. Hopefully by then the plumber will come in and fit the tap fitting for the dishwasher and I need to source an extension for the dishwasher drain hose and the kitchen will be all done. Yayy no more hand washing the dishes. Did nearly the whole lot myself. All I had help with was cut the hole for the sink. I may have been able to do it but I don't own a jigsaw, which we needed to cut the very last bit into the corners that the circular saw wouldn't reach. I was also a little nervous about making a $1900 mistake had I cut the hole in the wrong place.......
