Default smelly cabin XJ

Hi to all. Last year I had a new a/c evaporator fitted here in Bangkok. It fits up behind the glove box area. Since, I have had bad engine, pollutant smells entering the cab. The vacum lines on the passenger side (there are 2) do what? I have one connected to the vac.biscuit that operates a flap in front of the blower fan. The other line has been blocked and is not connected. On the drivers side I also have a non connected and blocked line. How easy will it be to connect these and what do they do?

Mostly AC/Heating duct control, dont think there is anything else VAC operated in the XJ dash. Demister duct flap/valves also have vac control I think.
Was the condensation drain hose reconnected correctly? Ther may be a grommet round one of the AC compressor hoses that wasnt reinstalled correctly would leave air flow from the engine bay to the cab.

Thanks MJ jeep 4 the reply, one thing that I should have mentioned is that Thai jeeps come new with no heater fitted, so perhaps this is why I have a couple of blocked vac. lines. I'm assuming that the drain is ok as water flows freely out of the the pipe and no signs of damp in the pass area. I'm wondering if the fresh air flap (what's that in Bangkok?) could be not sealing or stuck open. is this easy enough to check or seal off permently? cheers Rob D. 96 XJ limi 4lt.

All the ac and heater stuff is such a PITA to get too, the ducts, plumbing, vac lines and shite are all so interwoven with the electris and all else under the dash its extremly diffuclt to troubleshoot or find a leak and for a bloke my size damn near impossible!
Yeah the fresh air inlet was another thought, may be drawing from the engine bay if some thin else is busted. What about the seal at the rer of the bonnet? Is it intact??

I think I have nailed the cabin smells. This arvo while fitting a new serp, belt I noticed that the aux. fan connector was fitted R's about as the female lock tab was broken. This obviously makes the fan blow and not suck so extracting all the air out of the engine bay. Somehow some of this air finds it's way into the cab. I'm still assuming that the fresh air vent is not sealing at 100% to further compound it. I will investegate this one soon. Cheers Rob D. ps. The a/c must be going everytime you drive up here otherwise you fry!
