That's good.
What a joke from Asus. They don't provide the media only because of cost saving and they're too lazy to even prepare a recovery image for download which they used to do.

I was considering telling that under consumer law they are required to supply spare parts. It's all a bit much effort for no gain. I have been to emailing someone who I am guessing is sitting in a call centre in Asia who doesn't know or care about Australian laws.

You are exactly right on that. Most customer service hotlines are like that. A lot of trouble for no gain. better to spend ur time on more wheeling.

You should have called the Asus Centre in Lidcombe

If it's outside the "Resonable Timeframe" usually 2 years for computer they are not required to supply parts.

The recovery partition is regarded as installation media.

ASUS have a bad rep at the best of times. Make good motherboards and thats about it.
All overpriced though. You can buy just the key for win 7 or if you have an existing key you can download the iso from MS...use the media creation tool from MS and install it on a USB stick...bobs your uncle...need bigger than a 4Gb stick is all.

You can only download it if you have a valid product key. The product key provided with the computer will not work.

I ended up downloading it from another source but I get a message saying it isn't genuine everytime I use it.
