well went there with the qld jeep club on saturday for the day. well what an experience. havnt seen that many rocks since the last trip onto the difficult tracks at landcruiser. there were some very interesting hill climbs, some which were only able to be done by vehicles with at least one locker. didnt get to see the areas that the logan club cut for comps, will hopefully get over to that next time.

we only had to get the strap out once that i know off which was to ensure a end over end rollover didnt occur.

at least got to find out that the front bumpstop issue on my cherokee fixed the tyres scrubbing the inside of the guard, but still hit the bullbar. have to get that fixed before i got out there next time, or go without disconnecting the swaybar, but who wants to do that.

for any of my fellow jeepers that were there, thankx for a gr8 day wheeln
:D
pop some photos and vidz up as i get them.

Jimmy, went in there on Sunday. Not bad eh? There's some pretty tricky dicky stuff in there. Just cruising about the place made me think...hmm, time for diff locks! I was impressed to see most of the creeks, sorry, ALL of the creeks turned into tracks! It'd be great fun during a flash flood... :D From what i could see, there are about 4-5 access points from the bitumen. I came in the most westerly point and i tell you, this baby was low range for 600 metres over loose rocks on the steepest trail i've seen. Not way you'd make it in the wet up there!

I'm gonna go back in a couple of weeks, but if i'm there and it starts to rain, i reckon with my standard tyres it'd be a struggle to get out, let alone in!

I just went in there for a look, not to bash about. I did go on 2 wheels on a climb, know what a see-saw feels like? :D Good for a day of off roading, i was impressed. The views of the Gold Coast lets u know you're up damn high.

Jimmy, any damage or the like incurred by any vehicles?

no real damage from last weekend, i did scruff one of my alloys but wont loose any sleep. couple of bashed sills etc i think but that was about it.
the place is actually crown land i think, its next to a quarry which has signs that say keep out, its all fenced so you dont go in there. apparantly some of the road through there is gazzetted, must be intended for a road someday.
