Snow Driving
The Tamboritha Road is again a good place for driving in/ getting stuck in - snow! The things I like about this trip is it's free apart from your fuel costs. There are no Chain Fitting Nazis about. Just deep snow and good fun!
To find your way there just get to Licola (Victoria) and drive up the Tamboritha Road. When the snow stops your forward motion, it's time to turn around. If you run into a gate then it's the seasonal road closure, but there is good, deep snow 20km's before the gate.
Driving time from Melbourne is about 3 to 4 hours. It's a long way but I reacon it's worth it. Stay over at camping spots along the Wellington River or back at the Licola Camp Park.
Don't forget the skis ;)
