Default jerry can question

So I had a petrol JK, now I have a diesel. My question Is, is the plastic from the yellow diesel jerrycan's any different to plastic from the red petrol Jerry's?
Essentially, can I put diesel in my red jerry cans? Any feedback welcome, thanks Fellas.

I have a mix of red & yellow. Strictly speaking the law is red for petrol, yellow for diesel. When I get fuel it goes in what ever jerry is empty. I filled 4 today 2 were yellow, 2 were red. They were all filled with diesel. I have never had an issue with the plastic & I have about 12 of them. Never have I been questioned at a petrol station. They are far less likely to worry about diesel in a red as diesel is not considered a flammable liquid.

Agreed, I have a collection of red ones that mostly are used for diesel and have never had a problem. If you are in California however, the colours are enforced.
