Default ZJ Budget Lift

With some 31's mounted on Wrangler rims (actually measures 30" with a tape) how high do I lift the zj to keep out of trouble?
That is, no guard rubbing etc.

40mm? or higher? Plan on spacers only so the rig is close to stock. I will have to make up a panard rod dropper...

Any advise here....

no WJ questions? thats all i konw :D
but with 30" tires i think you might rub the fender lining and LCA when turning. i would think that 2" might be ok. not too sure. and i'd think the pan hard rod ahould be ok but dont quote me..

you know what the people do in the US to ZJ is a Front to Rear, where they put the standard front ZJ coils to the rear and buy new coils in the front to match, i think that gives you 2-3 in lift...

cheers

ross, a tera budget boost is 2" and has a set of bump stop drops in it too.
that will allow a 30" but not a 31 really even though they measure up like that.
a custom r.t.b is a good idea also.
we did one in a 96 laredo recently with a long range tank, that made it pretty interesting, hope you dont have one of them.
we have those in stock even though ive only ever sold one ZJ kit of any form.

Ross, I've gone 4 1/2 inch lift it's a OME suspension kit with spacers.Running the new 31in Goodyear Wranglers.
I've got another set of 30in BF muddies at home.
Both sets rub with the front sway bar disconnected off road but generally on road there's no problem.
Check out Suburban 4wds site and you'll get prices for a 2" and above, which ever lift you fancy. There a few photos of my ZJ on the same site and thats with 30" fitted

Thanks guys, it's given me something more to go on.
As I can't afford a set of new tyres right now, I've robbed a set off my old Cherokee and they look OK for wheel arch space "on road".
However, I'm not sure about the "off road" bit with wheel arch/ LCA space.
TW - you know me - wanna stuff around and make up my own bits (all I can afford with renovations!) but if I stuff up then - well it's my doing! More fun this way maybe?

What I REALLY want is the Burnville Off Road WJ set-up for the ZJ (wipes drool from chin) in the meantime I have a set of 31's to fit.

Thanks again for the input! :D

They are on.

A "budget lift" has been installed (front only at this time - the air bags are doing the rear for a short while) and the 31's fitted.

Digipics have been taken and if anyone is interested I can post them for your perusal.

"Digitaly Enhanced" Someone did it with their finger????
