Default xj diesel water pump

last night the water pump on my xj died big time
tried to get one this morning rang everydealer in the state
not a chance but there were 8 in the wharehouse in victoria
got told that i could have one by tuesday .
got onto brighton jeep in vic ad explained to them the problem
got one on the visa and got them to air frieght it will have it tommorow
they really helped me out if you guys in vic need anything
suggest that you see them

dave cost of pump $314.00
the old one will go into the reverse engineering box
will work out if there is a rebuild kit avalible and take it from there
dont know what the freight cost was as i just needed it on the plane

How did it die, my went a while ago.

Just wondering if it is a common fault.

bearing collapsed
got him fixed over the weekend
nearly turned to poo coz of the torx head fasteners that hold the pulley to the pump two of them wouldnt come undone and the splines in the bolts stripped out
so drilled the heads off then went to my work and source some cap screws with the same shape head and sutible coolant
put him bck together and shes a goer
