Default MY14 not recognising USB for map update

I'm trying to use a USB key to update the maps on my MY14 but it never gets detected and I don't get a prompt to update.

My maps were CMCDP4ROW;NQROW2012Q4;20130422
I updated uConnect to v17.43.01on the weekend
and that changed the name of my maps to CMCVP4ROW;V1

I'm using the RJ4_MAP_NQROW_2012Q4_20131030.zip file from Sox that apparently provides maps NQROW_2012Q4_20131030

I've formatted the USB key (which I've used successfully for 2 previous uConnect updates) to FAT32 and extracted the ISO file from the downloaded ZIP file so the only file on the USB key is swdl.iso

When I turn the radio on and insert the USB key I don't get any prompts even after leaving the USB key inserted for 1-2 minutes. I've tried it with the ignition on ACC and RUN, but not with the engine running.

Anyone had any issues with USB Map Updates not being detected from the USB key ?

Cheers.

I had the same issue, needed to to select the media icon instead of the radio icon. Then select usb icon and it should fire up. Good luck

Any tips on how you got to 17.43.01? I downloaded the Middle East file from 'Sox' but get an msg stating it's incompatible with this radio. Mine is an RJ4 in a MY14 Overland.
Thanks.

Sorry, can't help on that one. If it's the same Head Unit I would have thought it'd work.

One thing worth checking is if a log file is created. When I've done the updates on mine a log file is actually created back on the USB key. It's called swdlLog.txt

If it gets created for you the first few lines might give you some clues - though you may not even get to this point.

Here's the start of my successful upgrade:

Code:
********SOFTWARE UPDATE LOG********
Starting Update
Total units to update: 11
Installing unit 3 SYSTEM CHECK
Got the unit installer for SYSTEM CHECK
 System Market matches
 System Product matches
system_module_check: Part_number 68224532
 System Model Year matches
Installing unit 4 IOC-BOOTLOADER
Got the unit installer for IOC-BOOTLOADER
variant_product=VP4, variant_modelyear=MY14, v850Type=TB, v850Stub=stub

Just tried that - and it just sat there displaying "Cannot play". I even tried it with the engine running, and also tried redownloading and recreating the USB copying over the ISO file.

Still nothing.

I doubt that RJ4_MAP_NQROW_2012Q4_20131030.zip is an update as it predates v17.43.01.

I didn't think uConnect updates updated the maps as well - hence I was thinking/hoping I could still able the nav/map update.
