I'm a bit confused, or maybe I've missed something.

As mentioned, you can get parts onshore from All Grand Cherokee in Melbourne, a week to deliver (or you can arrange a courier to pick up from them to avoid AusPost). Offshore, you have Rockauto, similar delivery time - 7/8 days. There's a smattering of local parts suppliers e.g. US Auto Parts in Bris. but their range won't be as good.

The AU Jeep market isn't big enough to sustain a parts supplier with a range like Rockauto, but even if one did exist I doubt they could ship door to door any quicker than a week. I can't even get an envelope to find its way across Melbourne in much less than a week these days...

Really depends what parts you want general service parts or major mechanical, I've never gone to a dealer just couldn't see the sense....

Well, the thing is that the dealer charges more. Aftermarket parts must not be of the same price as OEM.

Yes maintenance parts are available on ebay. Would love to have a website like https://www.factorychryslerparts.com/

If dealer don't have it the last option that I am thinking is buy from this website and use shopmate.

rock auto has diesel parts from 2014 on, if yours is older, the first thing to do is

determine what manufacturer supplied the engine , Fiat or Mercedes

with that knowledge you can then go back to rock auto and search

you just need to know what other vehicles your specific engine model was fitted to

jeep diesels are NOT built by jeep but an alternative supplier

there will be people here with diesels who can point you in the right direction if you tell them your jeeps model year.

hope that makes sense

Step 1- get quote from dealer
Step 2 - search part number from quote on the rockauto search
Step 3 - part turns up 5-7 days later at a fraction of the price from the dealer.
Last thing I bought was for my JK and dealer price was $225
plus $25 for freight. Total price from rock auto was $35 au.

I just wish I could mail order a complete Jeep so I could avoid the dealer network completely
