Aluminium rod to replace the white plastic shaft in flap
Machine aluminium disc to sit inside the white gear
Weld rod to disc
Rivet disc to gear

Hope that’s descriptive enough to understand

Thanks mate!

Unfortunately I don't have the tools or ability to weld aluminium, but it may be my only option if this part turns up from.the USA and it is different!

Surely they didn't got to the trouble of making 2 different plastic gears in a mirror image of each other? Then again, it is Jeep we're talking about....

Yeah, I thought about that. Dunno how to get it done though? Send it to someone?

There is no cabin filter in the Commander unfortunately, they were only an option to fit to the WH Grand Cherokee (didn't come factory from what I understand).

Great news - got my new air inlet housing delivered from the USA yesterday and the part is the same as my broken gear! 😊

The recirc door looks the same too, so I may as well use it also. The plastic gears with the new part are black and seem much more sturdy. Now to put the whole thing back together!...

The LHD housing goes into the bin now, but better than spending ~$140 and having to turf the whole thing!
