Default Pre update fuel tank into 01 update

Almost finished doing my change over from the pre update we had to the 01 update , and now for the fuel tank , it’s a 160ltr custom duel sided long range , was made for my old 97 pre update ,

Before I start trial and error testing , pump wise , the 01 has an intank filter instead of a inline filter , so in theory I should be able to just fit up a inline filter and hook in the old pump , ‘plugs are the same’ as they are both obd2
,

Now my question, can i throw a Walbro pump in , or is there something specific that a xj pump needs to be able to do that would throw out the way it runs , my impression is that so long as they can deliver enough fuel and hold the 49psi to the rail it should be fine ,

Hopefully someone here might of done something similar

Following, I have a stock pre-update OBD2 tank I plan on swapping into my 98 for 2 reasons:
1) user replaceable fuel filter
2) Go Jeep vent mod for a budget long range tank (~90L total)

The main difference I’ve seen so far is that aside from the pumps mounting differently (top vs front) the sender resistance is opposite in range for full-empty, so I’ll need to work around this either with a gadget or an alternate sender with the right ohm range.
