Yeah, that's one thing we're going to do, is chamfer the end of the pin so it'll look a little like a door lock pin and I'll grade the ramp on the bracket too.
I've now also found where the flex is and I'm positive I can prevent the flex of the hinge by adding another support bracket behind the hinge with a plate that sits above the hinge, supporting the top of it.
It'll take some thinking and care when designing and welding it, so it dos the job it needs to without looking hideous. But once it's sprayed black and sits with the rest I know I'll quite like the "heavy duty" look of it
