Thanks guys,
Here's where I'm at.
I checked out the 62 tub - too far gone and I need the long guards and bonnet (glad I asked you guys).

Im now in the Market for a complete post 72 CJ5. Will spend up to 2k depending on condition... I'll chuck a thread under wanted.

Thanks again guys, let me know if you know of one around!

Cheers, Cambo

What engine was in the 62 CJ as the australian combat 6 models changed the firewall to look like

here is a pic that may give you a concept of the shorter bonet/guards

This is what my fire walllooks like, but will i have to cut the corners out a bit so i can fit a 302 v8??? Its a tight fit i know, i should have enough if i position my radiator as far forward as i can.

they had the 151 cid f head engine or the duantless v 6 buick as a option in the states
long time ago mate put 302 winsor in a 56 cj5
you need to use engine flywheel clutch /pressure plate and bell housing(ford) this fits straight on to the gear box you need to drill and tap 2 more holes in bell housing its 1 of the easier conversoins to do
